About What the Novato Housing Coalition does...
The Novato Housing Coalition advocates for community-based affordable housing.
The Coalition’s priority is preserving and developing housing opportunities for low and very low income households.
The Coalition also educates Novato’s elected officials about the need for the City to be more proactive in its support for affordable housing.

Through phone calls, letters, news articles, and attendance at City Council meeting, the Coalition keeps affordable housing as a focal point in the local political process.
The Coalition actively participated in the review and adoption of Novato's State-required Housing Element. NHC is now advocating for implementation of the Element.

Our Goals:
NHC works to educate and mobilize Novato residents to advocate for affordable housing in our community.
We encourage the City of Novato to be more proactive in the development of affordable housing, as required by the Housing Element.
Specifically, NHC keeps the City focused on developing very-low income housing units, as mandated in the Housing Element.

How to Help: Join our Friends group which receives our regular communications and attends key City Council meetings to show support for affordable housing in Novato.
